High sediments level in the water can change the water taste and color. It can also cause the blockages and affect the flow control of washing machines, dish washers, water heaters and even the water filtration equipment itself. This stage acts as a first line of defense in this system so that water moving after this stage is free of all kinds of suspended particles.
